About Us

The idea started 14 years back when Werner Truter realised the need in the South African Sports Sphere. Being a teacher for 13 years he always thought he would be able to fill the gap. In the beginning he used sport science students and friends to fill gaps where he personally lacked knowledge. His thinking changed 6 years back when an assistant coach said he should consider the gap of coaches and sports professionals at school level.

That, got the creative juices going; for 3 years ago he worked relentlessly on the idea and started with conversations with a lecturer at the Stellenbosch Sports Science Department.

Initially, he wanted to bring Sports Science into schools to fill that gap that a normal teacher without the knowledge could not. He wanted to make it easily accessible for schools, teachers, coaches, parents, and players. What to do, when to do it, why to do it and HOW to do it is the questions he wanted to answer through these services.

Now True Sports has evolved and aims to create a holistic, development driven and value based sports business that aims to connect schools with sport professionals.
